5th Six Weeks: Time to let our STAARS Shine!

Awesome NIAA Parents!
I hope  was a time of family, fun and relaxing!
We are only two weeks away from STAAR Testing for English I and II

STAAR English I Monday, March 30
STAAR English II Wednesday April 1

A few tips:
Make sure students
ü Arrive on time
ü Have a good protein filled breakfast
ü Wear a long sleeved white shirt under their regular uniform shirt (No jackets allowed)
ü Mobile phones will be taken up for the testing period or they can be left with you

ü Make sure students have a bottle of water which they may keep with them during testing

HOMEWORK:
Students have reading logs due this six weeks. Dates are posted on CLASSJUMP Calendar as well as the template they are to use.

SATURDAY SCHOOL!
Once we’re back from Spring Break, STAAR testing is only 2 weeks away! To facilitate our students’ success, we will be offering Saturday Schools in March, April, and May. All students are welcome, and for those who really need to be in attendance, we will be sending letters to parents so that you can schedule your child to be here for the extra help. Please take advantage of this focused review time to enhance your student’s achievement:
March 21: Math (grades 7/8), ELAR (grades 7/8/9/10)
March 28: Math (grades 7/8), ELAR (grades 7/8/9/10)
April 11: Math (grades 7/8/Alg 1), Reading (grade 7), Science(grade 8)
April 18: Math (grades 7/8/Alg 1), Reading (grade 7), Science (grade 8)
April 25: Algebra I, Biology May 2: Algebra I, Biology IT’S FREE!!!

Credit Recovery Plan – if your student has missed 6 or more days of classes they may be required to complete an independent project and or attend tutoring to recover lost time.
