Week Three: Oh the Drama!

Greetings Newman Parents!
Here we are into week three and we are full of drama!
10th and 9th grade ELA students will be reading plays in class including:

10th Grade
Aliens Ate My Homework
Sorry, Right Number by Stephen King
Pride and Prejudice a stage adaptation of the novel by Jane Austen

9th Grade
Blinded by the Knight by DM Larson
Big Nose (A Modern Cyrano) by D. M. Larson
The Miracle Worker by William Gibson

Writing: Student will also begin working a thematic research paper:

9th Grade
WRITING (Week 3)
Students will compose a research paper addressing on of the following topics:
Research Topics:
1. Louis Braille
2. Alexander Graham Bell
3. What recent technological
advances have helped in the education
of the blind and the deaf?
4. How are guide dogs trained and
obtained?
5. The history of Gallaudet
University
6. Visually impaired artist. Prepare a report
discussing the effect of blindness on
their creative talents.
7. Annie derived some of her
techniques from those Samuel Gridley
Howe had used with Laura Bridgman, a
blind-deaf girl that he had taught at the
Perkins Institute. Prepare a report on
Laura Bridgman and her relationship
with Annie Sullivan, her roommate.
