Twas the Week before Christmas Break…

Panic fills children's hearts as word slips out that Santa is missing after making only a few Christmas deliveries near Heathrow Airport, Officials speculate that his GPS may have gone awry and he may in fact be lost somewhere over the Atlantic

Week 3: Reading, Reading and More Reading!

Greeting Newman Parents!

This week in ELAR:

10th Graders are reading fairy tales and short stories which tackle the subject of body image and social acceptance of people who may appear to look different than the social norms. These readings give us the chance to really dialog about treat others with kindness and not judging a book by its cover.

Animated Santa Clause dancing with snowmen10 Pre-AP class is working on a visual presentation of the short story “Metropolis” about love in a far away place.

8th grade will read and discuss excerpts from “Diary of Anne Frank”  and “the Red Badge of Courage” and other stories that cover the theme of courage.

7th Grade is all about fantasy-fiction, reading about a young girl’s courage and bravery in the short story “Morg” (short for Morgan), “Young King Arthur” and “Sir Gawain”.

The countdown starts until Christmas break! We will continue focusing on grammar and revise and editing during our STAAR Starters. Weekly homework packets will continue until break as well.
