Back Into the Groove: 3rd Six Weeks

3rd Six Weeks!

Students will continue and complete reading in class novels with the intent to complete by the third week of the 3rd 6 Weeks. We will also read and discuss various non-fiction articles related to each respective novel.
Reading:
 Students will continue to explore fiction but through novels this six weeks:
English I students will be reading, Crispin: The Cross of Lead by Avi
English II students will be reading, Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
English III students will be reading the school edited version of "of Mice and Men" by Steinbeck

(links to the novels can be found at the right and bottom of the ClassJump page)
Writing: 
English I, II and III students will examine character traits of various characters in their novel in their in class essays.

Canned Food Drive

 Ms. Sanders is still accepting canned and dry goods donation for her church, The Right Way Church, food pantry. They will be feeding 20 families for Christmas. 5points per can (up to 4 cans).

Canned Food Drive

Beginning Monday, Nov. 16 through Friday, the 20th, we

will be collecting non-perishible food items for families to have

for Thanksgiving! Please bring your donations to the front

desk each morning next week. All donations will be given to

Mission Arlington on Friday. Thank you!

Get ready to celebrate the love of reading with our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair November 16th-20th! We will have many fun reading activities and events. Tuesday morning 7:30 to 8:00AM is Moms and Muffins at the coffee shop. Thursday, Grandparents are invited to eat lunch with their grandchildren. We invite you to visit our Book Fair and join in the fun as you shop for Christmas, enjoy the decorations and take your picture with one of the many photo opportunities available. Ask your child’s teacher about the day they will be shopping.
