3rd Six Weeks is HERE!

Students will continue reading in class novels with the intent to complete by the third week of the 3rd 6 Weeks. We will also read and discuss various non-fiction articles related to each respective novel.
Reading: Students will continue to explore fiction but through novels this six weeks:
English I students will be reading, Crispin: The Cross of Lead by Avi
English II students will be reading, Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
(links to the novels can be found at the right and bottom of the ClassJump page)

Writing:
English I students will examine character traits of various characters in their novel in their essays.
English II students will write creatively to change or rearrange a chosen story or novel read in class.

 NIA's 5th Annual Veteran’s Day Salute, right here in the Metro Center of Fielder Church! We will combine our constituency with that of our new sister school, New-man International Academy at Cedar Hill (NICH). Together, we will honor our service men and women who have so faithfully served this great country of ours: our students will sing, play instruments, and
make orations regarding this special occasion, and there will be refresh-ments for our Veterans afterward. Our Salute will begin at
12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10.

2nd Six Weeks...times almost up!

2nd Six Weeks Final Essay will be completed in class.

Students will take finals next week. Students will be on a regular schedule and take exams accordingly Here are the dates and classes:
Monday 26th - 5th and 6th
Tuesday27th - 1st and 2nd
Wednesday 28th - 7th and 8th
Thursday 29th - 3rd and 4th

FRIDAY 30th - MAKE UP/FINISH EXAMS if necessary EARLY RELEASE 12:30PM

October is College Month!

As a college-prep school, we designate the month of October as
College Month. Our juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to
visit various campuses throughout the month, and we encourage
all of our students to wear their choice of college t-shirts,
hoodies, etc. on our Dollar Jean Fridays. Show your spirit for
the college of your choice on Oct. 2nd, 16th, 23rd, and 30th!
