Greetings Newman Parents:
Just a quick update:9th and 10th Grade will continue shifting from poetry to non-fiction and informational text through the upcoming 5th six weeks.
NON-FICTION According to the TEKS:
Including:
Literary Non-fiction or Creative Non-Fiction
------Biography, Procedural and Narratives
Expository Text – explains or clarifies a topic
Informational Text- conveys information about the natural or social world
We will have 5 Reading Logs Due during the 5th Six Weeks:
March 5th and 6th
March 17th-20th
March 26th-27th
April 1st-2nd
April 9th-10th
Science and Math NIGHT! Grade Level Trip Meetings!
February 19th!
The Senior Class will be serving a Spaghetti Dinner from
5-6 p.m. in the Upstairs Café: $5/person or $20/family up to 5 people!
They’ll be selling baked goods, as well. Following dinner, the PSC meeting is scheduled from 6-6:45 p.m. in the Music Room on the second floor.
Math and Science Night begins at 7 p.m. in the gym,
then everyone will break into their Grade Level Trip Meetings at 8:00!
Lots of information will be shared and discussed, and we need your input.
