Greetings Newman Parents,
We have quite a bit going on to end this fabulous school year.
7th Grade
We are in the middle of the classic American novel “The
Adventures of Tom Sawyer” by Mark Twain. The students have a final essay to
complete (for a test grade) as well as a study guide and reading journal.
8th Grade
Students are blazing through S.E. Hinton’s “The Outsiders”. They
will also have a final essay over the novel (for a test grade) as well as a
study guide, 3 mini projects over the book and a reading journal.
10th Grade
We have enjoyed three stories from the collection of short
stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Students will choose one more story to read
from the collection and then complete a final essay (for a test grade),.
7th , 8th and
10th Grade will all have to turn in a portfolio with all completed
assignments by
May 23rd.
Students will be able to work on assignments in class and
encouraged to also give time to them at home.
